Junk Yard on view in Dallas

Junk Yard, a recent single-channel video of mine, is currently on display in the video room at Marty Walker Gallery in Dallas. The exhibition opened tonight and will be on view through February 11, 2012. Junk Yard will also be featured in an upcoming solo exhibition of mine at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art.

Peter Frank just wrote a nice little review in the HuffPost Arts’ Haiku Reviews for my current exhibition at Walter Maciel Gallery in Los Angeles. The show will be on view until August 19.

My new solo exhibition at Walter Maciel Gallery in Los Angeles opened to a wonderful response last night. The crowds were very good despite Carmeggedon.

The exhibition features six single-channel video installations, ranging from 2009′s Lawn Ornaments to the brand new Jotunheimr and Junk Yard. The work is on view at the gallery in Culver City until August 19.

Installation is almost complete for my newest exhibition, at the Walter Maciel Gallery in Los Angeles. The show features six single-channel video animations dating from 2009-11. The opening reception is tomorrow night from 6-8pm.

Six new single-channel and multi-channel works of mine are now available through Byron Cohen Gallery using a new online exhibition model. The new pieces will be available for previewing here on my website in the next week of so.

There is a nice half-page ad for the exhibition in the June issue of ARTNews.

Four of my older pieces (Treebeasties (1), Soft Velvet Float, Lawn Ornaments, and the Always Becoming Something prints) are currently on view in a group exhibition of gallery artists at Byron C. Cohen Gallery in Kansas City. The exhibition, which features 100 artworks displayed salon style, opened with a reception last night and will continue through the rest of the year. There will be a second reception on December 3 during the next Crossroads First Fridays. This exhibition is the last one to be held in the gallery’s current location.

The opening reception at Bruno David Gallery in St. Louis last Friday evening went very well. I showed my Totem (1) piece along with paintings by my good friend Kelley Johnson, photographs by Iris Nesher, and multimedia constructions by Gary Passanise. The reception was very well attended due in some small part to the fact that the Contemporary Museum across the street was also hosting an opening reception.

On Sunday a collector bought the last available edition copy of Totem (1) so all-in-all it was a great weekend.

Two of my single-channel videos, Soft Velvet Float and Vertical Blinds (2), will be featured in a group exhibition at Walter Maciel Gallery in Los Angeles. The exhibition, titled Short Film Series 1, is curated by Anne Alvergue and includes work by eight video artists from around the country. It opens July 10 and runs through August 20.

One of my recent pieces, the three-channel Totem (1), is currently installed in the back gallery room of Byron Cohen Gallery in Kansas City where it will most likely be on view for the rest of the year. I found out yesterday that one of my newest pieces, the three-channel Totem (1), will be shown at the Bruno David Gallery in St. Louis in September. It will be shown along with paintings by one of my closest friends, Kelley Johnson.
