I have been working on some animation tests for a possible video based on Kali, the Hindu deity of destruction. Today I decided to change out the images to commemorate the chaos of our current political situation.

Video shooting began last weekend in Salina, KS, for a new project for the Salina Art Center. The piece will be similar to Always Becoming Something (1) which was created in 2006 during a residency at Light Work.
Last weekend my assistant Cory and I videotaped 15 Salina citizens. I'm returning sometime later in the fall to videotape more volunteers.
The final piece is set to be shown at the Salina Art Center January 15, 2009.

Op Eyes, a single-channel video animation commissioned by the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art,
is finally set to open in the museum's new media gallery. I will be
giving a lecture on my work in the museum's auditorium on November 20,
2008 at 3:00 pm and the public reception will be held on the evening of
November 21, 2008.
I did a few self-portraits in this vein during a residency at Light Work in October 2006. I'm now thinking about revisiting this series for my exhibition at Light Work coming up in August 2009.
