A short clip from my newest video animation, Pulp Kali, is now online in my portfolio.
I just found out that an article I was interviewed for almost a year ago actually came out last August in KC Magazine. I never saw the print edition of it but did find that the article, titled "Video Art Comes Home," was posted on their MidwestLuxe website.
My commission for the Nerman Museum was mentioned on page 26 in the October 2008 issue of Review in the article "Art In Architecture" by Anthony Rohr. A painting by my friend and colleague Ricky Allman graces the cover.
One of the self portraits created during a residency at Light Work, untitled (SP2) (second print from the left), is currently on view at Light Work's Menschel Gallery on the campus of Syracuse University. The print is also part of Light Work's permanent collection.
Light Work director Hannah Frieser and I spent about five hours today scouting locations for my exhibition coming up at Light Work in 2009. We visited Syracuse University's Art Galleries, Warehouse Gallery, Point of Contact, Delavan Art Gallery, and Spark, as well as numerous buildings around SU's campus which have public LCD screens. Our thought is to install video "interventions" at various spots around the city and campus. These interventions could take the form of projections on the sides of buildings or small LCD monitors installed in conspicuous places.
